This was one of those perfect, late summer nights for sleeping tentless under the stars at over 2000m; calm, warm, dry and with good friends. As I could feel dawn approaching, I opened one eye to see if blue hour, the twilight period just before sunrise, was starting. This was when I needed to pull myself from the snug comfort of my sleeping bag whilst my adventure companions slept soundly. I spent several quiet and focused minutes shooting the scene before the sun crested the mountains to the east and fired body battery charging rays onto my tired face. 

One of my favourite creations of this morning is this calm, atmospheric landscape, with the rugged silhouette of the Gastlosen ridge overlooking the softly layered hills of the Simmental region. Subdued light and muted tones give it a quiet, almost monochromatic feel. 

This print brings a sense of stillness and depth, making it a subtle yet striking addition to various interior styles. Its gentle palette works harmoniously with both neutral and more richly coloured spaces. Using a highly detailed digital image file printed on archival-quality fine art papers, it is even possible to make out 3 other mountain campers enjoying the sunrise from the Hundsrugg in the centre of the image. I wonder if they have a photograph of us.

This print is available to view in "Large" size (120cm wide), "Premium" material option, and with a walnut frame in Le Chalet de La Berra, a beautiful mountain restaurant just below the peak of La Berra.

Fine art paper prints have a white border around the printed image. The framed options include a mount to cover this border. Premium and Infinity prints do not have a white border. This is reflected in the sizing information; "Printed image size" and "Paper size".

Premium

Fine art paper bonded to an aluminium composite panel overlaid with a protective matt finish UV film. Delivered flat and can be hung directly with or without a frame. For more information, click here

Infinity

The ultimate. Fine art paper sandwiched between an aluminium composite panel and a high-quality optically clear acrylic with a gloss finish. Delivered flat and supplied with a solid wood frame. For more information, click here

Framing

Frames are offered in white and black (painted) and oak and walnut (light and dark natural wood finish). Please note that the actual colour and finish may differ slightly from the images shown below. 

Mounting Hardware

All prints come with mounting hardware attached to the back for easy wall mounting at home. Wall hardware (i.e. hooks, screws, french cleats etc) is not supplied.
